Qualitando lets you import data from files. Formats accepted are csv, txt, xls, xlsx, ods, the standard for table structured data interchange.

The uploaded file will be scanned for relevanta data; columns should therefore have a title, or header (the datum found in the table first row) to let the system recognize its contents, like "Email", "Language" or "Room", or common sense synonims. Columns positions are not important.

To send a survey only an email address is strictly needed, so the only mandatory column in the file is email: the system will anyway scan the file searching other columns in order to find data that can complete customer informations, or help sheduling automated sending.

Here is the list of all the column headers the system can recognize (and the data it can store): mandatory data are in bold at the top of the list, optional data follow.

* Name can be submitted as a single, aggregated datum, or better split in Title, First Name and Last Name. If First Name and Last Name won't be provided as distinct data the system will try to understand and separate them.
** If no specific check-in or check-out dates are not provided, the system will try to find a unique reference date.
*** Other informations that can enable or facilitate external software integration, like reservation codes. Contact us for more informations.

Before importing, the system will analyze the file, providing a report of the column it has recognized and that contain data that can be memorized. If no headers are found, the system will try to read any email from the document.

Here an example: if a file like this is uploaded when creating invitations for a survey:

After scanning the columns, the system will present the following dialog:

If no headers are found in the file, the dialog will be:

leaving open the option to read anyway the file, looking for any email address in the file body.
